About this event
Explore connections between art and literature during Fred Reads, the museum’s new book club. Join us in the Adkins Gallery to discuss Tommy Orange’s bestselling novel "There There", Cannupa Hanska Luger’s mixed media sculpture "Stereotype: The Luger", and their shared themes related to contemporary Native identity, representation, belonging, and community. Through Orange’s acclaimed portrait of urban Native life and Luger’s examination of stereotypes and cultural resilience, participants will consider how artists and authors challenge misconceptions while celebrating the complexity of Native experiences. Please bring your own copy of the book, which is available at local bookstores, public libraries, and through bookshop.org. Participation included with museum admission. Admission is complimentary for OU students, faculty, and staff with an OU ID. General admission is $12 for adults (18+).
