About this event
The Laws of Likeness and Contagion: An Introduction to Sympathetic Magic
This course offers a foundational exploration into the concepts, history, and cross-cultural practices of sympathetic magic. Sympathetic magic operates on the core belief that objects and actions can influence reality at a distance by a form of connection. Students will analyze how human societies across time have used symbolic logic to interact with, interpret, and attempt to control the natural world. You will learn various example of how to use this form of magic, and will walk away with an actual spell of your own to do!
