About this event
You've been pushing all week. Lifting, grinding through the tired days, showing up when your body is asking for a break. Most of us only train the work. We almost never train the rest, and the rest is where your muscles actually repair, your nervous system resets, and your strength gets built.
This hour is for athletes, competitors, and anyone who loves their training and wants their body to feel it too. If you're in prep, coming back from a hard block, or tired of rushing through recovery, this one is for you.
What this is
A sound immersion is a guided nervous system regulation & rest experience built around sound. You lie down on a mat, get comfortable, and close your eyes. Instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, rain sticks, and other instruments are played around the room. The sound moves through the air and into your body ( down to the cellular level) as vibration, and your only job is to notice it.
What you'll likely notice
Most people notice their breathing slow on its own, their jaw and shoulders soften, and their mind drift away from the task list. Some feel warmth, tingling, or a heaviness in the body. Some feel sleepy, and some feel emotions rise and pass. All of it is normal, and nothing has to happen for the hour to work. It is a complete full body experience.
Why sound affects the body
Sound is vibration, and your body feels it as well as hears it, especially the lower tones. Your nervous system is always scanning for demands. A slow, steady sound that asks nothing of you gives it a signal to ease out of constant effort and move toward the rest and repair side of your system. That is the state your body needs in order to recover.
What the research says
Studies have found that people often report lower stress and tension, and better mood, after sound sessions. It isn't a replacement for medical care, and it won't fix an injury. What I can offer is an hour of focused, guided rest, built on the same breath and nervous system work I teach in every session.
What it isn't
It isn't a massage, a ceremony, or a performance. You don't have to believe anything or have any experience. Nobody is grading how well you relax.
What happens in the hour
We start with a short education on how sound, frequency, and breath affect the brain, the nervous system, and the muscles that work hard all week. Then we move through guided breathwork and a somatic body scan, so you can notice where you've been holding on. Next, you'll set an intention for the week ahead. Then the sound immersion itself, where you simply receive.
What you leave with
A calmer nervous system, more connection to the body you train every day, and a clear intention to carry into the week. Instead of starting Monday on fumes, you start from a place of steadiness.
What you need
No experience needed. Come as you are, wear something you can lie down in comfortably, bring a yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on for an hour, and bring water. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in before we begin.
After the sound
I'll be training afterward, and you're welcome to move with me. There's no pressure to work out. Members train free, and first time local visitors train free after signing a waiver. Guests who aren't members and have visited before can add the dry sauna with a $20 day pass.
Reserve your spot
Registration is $25, and space is limited to 10 guests on mats. It's open to the public and gym members.
