About this event

A funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about a young Army recruit navigating boot camp, first love, and life during World War II. Follow aspiring writer Eugene Morris Jerome as he arrives in Biloxi, Mississippi, for Army basic training in 1943. Alongside a memorable group of fellow recruits, Eugene encounters an unpredictable drill sergeant, questions of identity and prejudice, and the complicated business of growing up. Neil Simon brings humor, warmth, and sharp insight to this story of friendship, individuality, and finding your voice.
