  • Governor Stitt will ask legislators to remove the $250 million cap on the Parental Choice Tax Credit program when the session begins on Feb. 2. State officials report nearly $1 million in tax credits remains unspent this school year — a sign of rising demand for private school options.  The Oklahoman

  • Social work students at the University of Oklahoma urged local leaders to expand evidence-based treatment programs & harm reduction initiatives to address a growing substance abuse crisis that is impacting families and schools, as noted on Jan. 10.  The Oklahoman

  • Pre-development meetings in January will review proposals for a multi-family residential project on Chautauqua Avenue and a new neighborhood on the south side of East Robinson Street — local residents can meet with developers to learn more.  The Norman Transcript

  • Four-star edge rusher/linebacker Taven Epps committed to OU Saturday at the Navy All-American Bowl — the Tustin High School standout chose OU over Texas, Georgia, Notre Dame and USC after visits to Norman.  The Oklahoman
  • Former Georgia Tech offensive lineman Peyton Joseph transferred to OU football under coach Brent Venables on Saturday (Jan. 10), bringing four years of eligibility to bolster the Sooners' offensive line.  The Oklahoman
  • OU football secured a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Deven Robertson during the Navy All-American Bowl on Saturday. The recruit from Oak Grove High School, ranked among the nation’s top 50 in the 2027 class, visited Norman on Nov. 22 and chose the Sooners over other top programs.  The Oklahoman
