  • Book lovers in Oklahoma have a busy month ahead: the annual library book sale at the State Fairgrounds starts Feb. 21, offering over 500,000 items (with sensory-friendly hours on Feb. 22), while poetry workshops and author talks in Tulsa, UCO and Guthrie are scheduled from Jan. 27 to Jan. 29.  The Oklahoman

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A University of Oklahoma student is fighting to save the Landscape Architecture master’s degree program after officials informed students on Oct. 29 that it would be discontinued pending a Board of Regents vote (she launched a Change.org petition).  The Norman Transcript

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Record snowfall and extreme cold have forced Norman schools, government offices and other services to remain closed through Monday. An extreme cold warning remains until 9 a.m. Monday + residents are urged to dress in warm layers to counter dangerous wind chills.  The Norman Transcript

  • Former OU football players were recognized for the All-Sooners transfer team by The Oklahoman sports columnist.
