- ➤ On Feb. 1, 2026, the Buffalo Bills targeted OU cornerbacks coach Jay Valai for a defensive backs coach role, CBS Sports reported. OU renewed his contract with a $35,000 raise + is working to keep him with the Sooners. The Oklahoman
- ➤ John Boogaard has been named Bridge Creek’s new head football coach, coming from Norman North (where he coached the offensive line) to replace Larry Spangler after a 1-9 season as the team seeks improvement. The Oklahoman
- ➤ The Sooners lost to No. 4 Texas 78-70 on Sunday, Feb. 1 at Moody Center as 21 turnovers gave Texas 25 extra points and guard Payton Verhulst scored 18 points — coach Jennie Baranczyk said the team struggled with inbounding and offensive sets. The Oklahoman
