EDUCATION NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Under the new Farm Bill approach through H.R. 1, key programs such as crop insurance and disaster aid are extended, giving Oklahoma farmers longer planning time while the shift to a narrower, budget-driven policy raises uncertainty about unresolved concerns, including rising input costs felt by cotton growers like Charlcey Plummer.  KGOU

HEALTH NEWS

  • Doctors and marijuana business workers now must complete yearly education and product packaging includes warnings, but experts say more public education is needed to show how cannabis interacts with drugs and affects surgery. This follows a steep rise in patient licenses that left many at increased risk.  The Oklahoman

SPORTS NEWS

  • The OKC Thunder struggled with only eight players and lost 116-106 to the Spurs on Wednesday. Kenrich Williams led with 25 points as injured members may return ahead of the home game against Houston Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CST — a boost for the team's depth.  The Oklahoman
  • OU football added cornerback LeBron Bauer to its 2026 class when the recruit announced his commitment yesterday. Bauer, a three-star from Allen High School in Texas, recorded 50 tackles plus six interceptions last season and had offers from several programs.  The Oklahoman
