  • Norman Cookiefest will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Well, 210 James Garner Ave, to raise funds for Loveworks Leadership and showcase local baking talent — families can enjoy free admission, purchase tickets for cookies, and join children’s cookie craft and storytime.  News9

  • The Norman Arts Council is seeking qualified artists for a future Black History Plaza along Legacy Trail — the planned 1,000 sqft plaza will be located between Main Street and Acres Street to celebrate Norman’s Black history as design details remain in progress.  The Norman Transcript

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cleveland County commissioners approved an up-to $50 million bond note on Monday to finance construction at the OU arena in the Rock Creek Entertainment District — the county’s Recreational and Entertainment Facilities Authority will manage debt for design, construction and other expenses as plans move forward.  OU Daily
  • Oklahoma lawmakers approved naming Norman’s turnpike after country singer Toby Keith (with his family’s blessing) during a legislative session; the decision marks a historic milestone for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.  The Oklahoman

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Oklahoman's Jordan Davis led a tour of OG&E Coliseum, the new venue for the 2026 OSSAA basketball state tournament. The tour provided insights into the facility where the tournament will be held later this year.  The Oklahoman
  • The College Softball Super 16 poll shows Tennessee as the top team while Texas and Texas Tech tie for second + Oklahoma stays in fourth with a 21-point gap; upcoming conference play will test these standings further.  The Oklahoman
  • OU freshman guard Aaliyah Chavez earned her eighth SEC Weekly Freshman honor—tying the record—and she is now one award short of the Oklahoma record; she helped the Sooners secure a five seed in this week's SEC Tournament after strong performances last week.  News9
