CULTURE NEWS

  • Local artist DROIDA is set to perform at the 404 in the 405 event at the Resonator Institute in Norman on Saturday, April 4. Her live show will feature electronic beats and a cyberpunk style with accompanying musicians (Ethan Schlecht and Santiago Ramones).  KGOU
  • Quincy Bakery & Cafe launched yesterday at Oklahoma Contemporary, serving museum guests French pastries, specialty lattes, and lunch options alongside the new Anthony McCall exhibit. The bakery supports a model that pairs neurodivergent and neurotypical team members to promote meaningful employment.  The Oklahoman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Kevin Stitt appointed Dustin Hilliary (co-CEO at Hilliary Communications) to the OU Board of Regents on Thursday, and his appointment now awaits Senate approval. Hilliary previously served on the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education since 2022.  The Norman Transcript
  • Sooner Mall has requested a tax rebate from Norman to finance renovations—including lighting, restroom upgrades and exterior refresh—to attract new tenants and boost sales, with a potential $60,736 rebate in 2025. City Council will review the term sheet next week — a move aimed at revitalizing this key local property.  The Oklahoman
  • Gov. Kevin Stitt appointed his senior adviser, Dustin Hilliary, to the OU Board of Regents on Thursday pending Senate approval; Hilliary, who served as vice chair of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, will keep advising the Governor if confirmed.  OU Daily

  • The Oklahoma Sooners women's basketball team faces the No. 13 seeded Idaho Vandals in the NCAA Tournament first round at Lloyd Noble Center today at 9 p.m. The team, led by Raegan Beers and Aaliyah Chavez, is making its 26th tournament appearance.  The Oklahoman
  • The Thunder beat the Nets 121-92 on Wednesday night for their 10th straight win. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 points, extending his NBA record for consecutive road games with at least 20 points as the Nets posted historically low first-half scoring.  News9
  • Former OU guard Duke Miles scored 13 points in Vanderbilt's 78 to 68 win over McNeese on March 19, 2026, helping the Commodores advance to the NCAA Tournament second round; they will face Nebraska Saturday.  The Oklahoman
