  • Oklahoma spring arts festivals offer creative events with live entertainment, food, and art activities across the state. In Norman, the inaugural Arts Festival will occur May 16-17 at Andrews Park featuring food trucks + a beer and wine garden along with a youth vendor showcase.  The Oklahoman
  • World Literature Today's annual Puterbaugh Festival begins today on campus with a Persian music workshop at the OU School of Music and a reception at The Depot featuring translator and poet Haleh Liza Gafori, while tomorrow events at Holmberg Hall include a discussion and concert.  OU Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Undergraduate Student Congress appointed Mecca Fisher as Ways and Means Committee chair at Tuesday’s meeting and revised its election policy to shift filing and meeting timelines. Fisher, currently vice chair, said he looks forward to expanding funding sources while the measures passed with unanimous votes.  OU Daily

  • Micah Rhodes, the No. 2-ranked running back recruit for 2028, decommitted from OU football on Wednesday, leaving the team with no commitments. He now holds offers from multiple schools after coach DeMarco Murray left for the Kansas City Chiefs.  The Oklahoman
  • Oklahoma battled vigorously in overtime — Nijel Pack hit clutch threes to edge Colorado 90-86 Wednesday night in Las Vegas. The Sooners will advance to the semifinals Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT and face either Baylor or Minnesota for a chance at the $300,000 prize.  News9
  • OU softball pitching coach Jennifer Rocha returned to Love's Field on Tuesday after missing 34 games due to cervical cancer (3,861 fans gave her a warm ovation). Now cancer free, she is reconnecting with her pitching staff ahead of upcoming games.  The Oklahoman
  • No. 11 Oklahoma beat Oral Roberts 4-0 Tuesday in Tulsa as Brendan Brock hit a three-run homer in the first inning while pitchers Michael Catalano, Nick Wesloski and Isaac Williams kept the opposition scoreless.  News9
  • Pauline Love, the OU women's basketball associate head coach, was hired as Alabama women's basketball head coach on April 1, 2026, according to a report; OU coach Jennie Baranczyk now must replace her key assistant as the transfer portal will open on Monday, Apr. 6.  The Oklahoman
  • OU basketball beat Colorado 90-86 in overtime on Wednesday in Las Vegas, with Nijel Pack scoring 20 points (including two key 3-pointers) to secure the win. The Sooners will face the Baylor-Minnesota winner in Saturday’s semifinals.  The Oklahoman
