  • Forman School announced that Ella Scott, a Norman junior, was named one of the Top 20 finalists in the 9th annual Storm King School Poetry Contest — her poem 'Cracked' was selected from 193 submissions from 22 schools.  The Norman Transcript

  • The Oklahoman's Burger Bracket is in its final week as Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler and Nic’s Grill face off after a close vote margin from previous rounds—voters have until 11:59 p.m. April 6 to decide the champion and the result will be announced on April 7.  The Oklahoman

SPORTS NEWS

  • OU quarterback John Mateer, transferring from Washington State, said he has something to prove after SEC teams and Oklahoma initially overlooked him. He promised that every team which passed on him will pay—he plans to lead the Sooners’ offense during spring practice and change the program's fortunes.  The Oklahoman
  • OU freshman guard Jeremiah Fears declared for the NBA Draft Wednesday after an impressive season at OU where he averaged 17.1 points in 34 games. He is an SEC All-Freshman Team member and an anticipated lottery pick—his playmaking and size attracted NBA scouts.  The Oklahoman
  • The University of Oklahoma will host four AUSL pro softball games at Love’s Field from June 20 to 23 and former Sooner stars Tiare Jennings and Sydney Romero will return to Norman. Tickets will be available starting at 1 p.m. CT today—marking the start of the league's inaugural regular season that runs from June 7 to July 23 with ESPN set to air 33 games.  News9
