- ➤ Clean Shorts Film Festival is happening today at the Moore Norman Technology Center’s Straughn Center & runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., featuring 51 short films from around the globe in a family-friendly setting. The Oklahoman
- ➤ Norman’s annual Roots in Rainbows Pride Weekend festival runs May 1–3 downtown with live music, vendors, food trucks and community events. The event will feature an opening ceremony at Lazy Circles Brewing on May 1 plus a parade and 5K run on May 3. OU Daily
- ➤ OU University Theatre's production of 'The Birds' opens Friday, Apr. 10 at Weitzenhoffer Theatre at 8 p.m. and features collaborative costume designs from professor Lloyd Cracknell, student Natalie Lane and puppeteer Afsaneh Aayani — designs that honor diverse Indigenous cultures. OU Daily
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Artsy Learning Academy moved to CrossPointe Church after a fire on March 15 damaged its building, including a melted playground and burned fence, and disrupted classes. Owner Melesa Dobbins said the school will be rebuilt by June and community members aided the recovery with donations and help. OU Daily
- ➤ The OU Daily Publications Board elected Audrey McClour as its 2026 summer editor-in-chief on Friday. A journalism sophomore with experience at KGOU and the Daily since fall 2024, she will begin her role in May to boost enterprise and human interest coverage. OU Daily
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Kevin Kruger, an assistant at Illinois, is coaching in the Final Four today and retraced his father's coaching route by moving from OU to UNLV before joining Illinois (his dad Lon coached at OU) and said the decision, made with his dad and wife, was a home run. The Oklahoman
- ➤ OU gymnastics teams are competing this weekend; the women's team will begin regionals in Kentucky Friday through Sunday (they must finish as one of the top two teams to qualify for nationals) while the men face the MPSF Championship at Cal on Saturday to boost their qualifying score. - ➤ OU softball beat Kentucky on Friday with a run-rule win led by freshman Lexi McDaniel's five RBIs and Kendall Wells' record 29th home run — setting the stage for a series sweep today at Love’s Field. The Oklahoman
- ➤ On Friday, April 3 at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ky, the top-ranked OU women's gymnastics team advanced to the NCAA Regional final. They will move on to the NCAA Championships on April 16 and 18 in Fort Worth if they finish in the top two. The Oklahoman
