GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ OU Student Government Association President Carter Strickland resigned Friday afternoon following impeachment charges—he said stepping down was best for the student government and the university. Vice President Avery Dunlap became acting president and will meet with the executive office Sunday and address the Undergraduate Student Congress Tuesday. OU Daily
- ➤ Oklahoman residents must obtain a REAL ID, a valid U.S. passport, or another approved form of identification by May 7 to board domestic flights, enter military bases or access federal buildings. Service Oklahoma is extending appointment hours on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays to help residents meet the deadline. News9
- ➤ The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority announced it is shifting the South Extension Turnpike route in Cleveland County because parts of the original path could not support highway construction. Public meetings to gather community input will be held next month in Norman and Purcell. News9
