CULTURE NEWS

  • The Medieval Fair of Norman is underway at Reaves Park until April 12, featuring over 200 arts and crafts booths, jousting knights, and food vendors; parking costs $10.  The Oklahoman
  • Today, OU School of Dance senior Sophia Smith re-debuts her 57-minute ballet 'The Sacred Veil' with Windsong Chamber Choir at Inspiration Point Center for the Arts in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Updated choreography — featuring dancer Ava Kabelo — brings new depth to the tribute, which raises cancer awareness.  OU Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norman will host 10 OU commencement ceremonies in May while local guides offer information on hotels, restaurants, and services near Lloyd Noble Center. Graduates and visitors should review security screening and entry rules before attending the ceremonies.  OU Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Navy Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Laddy Aldridge from Cushing — an Oklahoma native — was among the dive team that assisted in recovering the Artemis II crew after their splashdown in the Pacific Ocean. The recovery occurred on April 9.  The Norman Transcript

SPORTS NEWS

  • Mackenzie Alleyne, a transfer from Washington State, made a one-handed catch in the end zone during practice eight days ahead of the spring game, showing his drive to secure a bigger role in the Sooners offense. Coach Brent Venables said he sees Alleyne as a playmaker amid strong competition.  News9
  • OKC Thunder lost 127-107 to the Denver Nuggets Friday night as both teams rested key players after clinching the West top seed. Nikola Topic, making his first career start, recorded 14 points and 11 assists in the game (showing promise for upcoming playoff runs).  The Oklahoman
  • Three local college golfers, including former OU Sooner Chris Gotterup, OSU's Sam Stevens and former OSU Cowboy Wyndham Clark, tied for 17th at The Masters first round at Augusta National on Thursday by posting even par 72s + OSU amateur Ethan Fang shot a 2-over 74 on Friday.  News9
