  • OU announced that Robert Palmer will become the new dean of the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences and director of the National Weather Center, with his official start on July 1 pending final approval by the Board of Regents. He has worked at OU since 2004 and led the Advanced Radar Research Center, bringing over $115 million in competitive funding to the university — his work makes him a recognized leader in radar science.  OU Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Oklahoma State Election Board will send address confirmation notices to some voters in the coming weeks. Voters who do not update their address within 60 days may be removed from the voter rolls after the 2028 general election—this routine measure applies to those who have not voted or updated their registration recently.  KGOU
  • Oklahoma will enforce REAL ID rules on May 7 so any resident over 18 who flies or enters federal buildings must use a REAL ID, though a standard license is still an option.
