  • Impact Oklahoma, a group of women from central Oklahoma, will award more than $250,000 to local nonprofits on May 15 at the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Five nonprofit finalists will present projects at the event for members to vote on.  News9
  • Interior demolition at the former Myriad Convention Center is underway as workers remove wall panels, insulation, and carpet from inside the building. City officials say the pedestrian canopy will be removed today — the first step toward the planned exterior work with updated traffic routes in place.  News9

  • This week in Oklahoma, historic flooding rescued dozens, damaged communities, and took lives — the Denver Nuggets won 120 to 101 and will face the OKC Thunder on Monday. State officials managed government issues as the Mental Health Department confirmed payroll will run as planned and the ethics commission reached a settlement with the State Superintendent.  News9
  • Oklahoma Attorney General Drummond demanded that Governor Stitt fire Commissioner Allie Friesen from the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services after lawmakers learned the agency might run out of funds as early as Wednesday—facing a $43 million deficit and several probes into mismanagement. Governor Stitt defended Friesen and announced plans to appoint an independent financial expert while legislative leaders continue to investigate the department's fiscal issues.  The Oklahoman
  • Today, the U.S. Supreme Court is hearing arguments on a case over St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School, which may become the first publicly funded religious charter school. Top Oklahoma officials attended the hearing—Governor Kevin Stitt, House Speaker Charles McCall, and Attorney General Gentner Drummond—and Drummond said he will enforce any decision from the court while eight justices, following Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s recusal, appear divided.  News9
