COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals advised pet owners to microchip their pets, create a safe indoor space, lock all exits, and consult a vet for calming options to prevent escapes during Fourth of July fireworks. The tips warn that frightened pets may remain anxious after the holiday — owners should stay vigilant to avoid injuries or lost animals.  News9

  • ODOT urged travelers to be patient as record Fourth of July travel will begin with 72 million Americans expected to journey—62 million of whom will drive. Officials advised planning ahead and checking route conditions, particularly near construction zones, to ease the holiday rush.  News9

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hospital leaders warned that proposed Medicaid cuts being debated in Congress will soon eliminate nearly 15,000 jobs and reduce federal funds by $8.7 billion over the next decade—forcing rural providers to cut essential services like OB-GYN care.
