GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • NOAA’s latest budget proposal released June 30 would cut funding for Norman’s National Severe Storms Lab and OU’s Cooperative Institute for Severe and High-Impact Weather Research and Operations if approved, endangering key projects like Warn-on-Forecast and VORTEX USA. The plan would also shift some research funds to the National Weather Service and likely end support for the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program that aids local hazard planning.  The Oklahoman
