- ➤ Norman police are investigating a hit-and-run after they found a man dead near East Cedar Lane Road (Classen Boulevard) on Friday morning and are asking anyone with tips to come forward. News9

- ➤ On July 4th at 12:26 p.m., OSDE announced its partnership with the Today Foundation to improve the online history and literacy program for middle and high school students by introducing Bill Bennett's Story of America. State Superintendent Ryan Walters said he was proud of the new resource — one that gives Oklahoma students a fact-based, pro-America education. News9

- ➤ Cleveland County Commissioners approved a $630,000 contract this week to deploy school resource officers—seven sheriff’s deputies—to serve all 17 Norman elementary schools. The Norman Transcript

- ➤ The Northwest Optimist Girls U18 soccer team qualified for the national tournament in Tampa after winning key games in regionals on July 4th — they secured their spot with a decisive overtime goal. The team is holding multiple fundraisers and will leave for Tampa on Tuesday, July 8th. News9
