- ➤ Oklahoma firefighters left Saturday and arrived early Sunday to help Texas search and recovery efforts after catastrophic floods killed at least 104 people, including 28 children. Chief Scott Douglas said the team was integrated into the local 911 system and worked in areas like Hamilton, New Braunfels, Copperas, and Marble Falls—taking part in swift water rescues as the waters receded. - ➤ The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department closed all state park restaurants after ending its contract with Lookout Kitchen over unpaid bills and other violations. The closure came after Lookout Kitchen failed to meet obligations detailed in a notice sent on May 16 — with the operator not correcting issues by July 7 — and parks now offer grab-and-go food options while food trucks may be used in the future.
