- ➤ A 10-year-old boy from Norman saved a 17-year-old at a Fourth of July pool party on July 10th when he noticed his friend was not resurfacing in an aboveground pool—party guests performed CPR and called 911 as the teen was taken to OU Children's Hospital, where doctors said he has no lasting harm. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Norman Public Schools Board of Education approved a bell-to-bell cellphone ban for students on campus for the 2025-26 school year as required by Senate Bill 139 from Gov. Kevin Stitt. The policy includes exceptions for emergencies and off-campus lunch for high school students — officials will discuss further details with staff this month — to help students focus on classroom learning.
