- ➤ The Oklahoma State Department of Education wants to add teacher effectiveness measures to school grades by using teacher certification, experience, and evaluation outcomes—replacing chronic absenteeism rates. Lawmakers, including state Sen. Mark Mann, say the change will unfairly hurt schools that use emergency-certified teachers, and the public may submit comments until Friday, Aug 8. The Oklahoman
