  • OU and Texas are competing in the third annual Red River Food Fight, where their food pantries raise donations through Oct. 4 & OU is aiming to win a third straight contest after wins in the past two years. Donations can be dropped off at the OU food pantry starting today.  News9

CRIME NEWS

  • An Oklahoma County judge ruled that Benjamin Plank cannot continue his competency restoration for the murder of Deputy Bobby Swartz—Plank had spent over two years repeatedly refusing his prescribed medication, leaving civil commitment as the only next step.  News9

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A federal judge in Muskogee ruled on Aug.30 that an Oklahoma law letting undocumented students pay lower tuition is unconstitutional—conflicting with federal law. The decision came after Attorney General Gentner Drummond and the Justice Department asked for the law to be stopped, and the state agreed it should be struck down.  The Oklahoman

SPORTS NEWS

  • OU head coach Brent Venables said during Monday's press conference that Michigan freshman QB Bryce Underwood is similar to Trevor Lawrence—he stressed that the team will focus on its fundamentals for Saturday’s game against Michigan, the first matchup on either campus.
