- ➤ Oklahoma lawmakers introduced bills to honor conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, who was killed on Sept. 10, by proposing that Oct. 14 be named Charlie Kirk Free Speech Day and every public college create a memorial plaza. One bill requires universities to submit a detailed plaza plan by March 1 before construction the following year — the proposals will be considered when the Legislature reconvenes on Feb. 2.
