- ➤ Oklahoma education leaders are waiting for state superintendent Ryan Walters to turn in his official resignation letter so Governor Kevin Stitt can appoint a new leader. Walters will join the Teacher Freedom Alliance next Wednesday—lawmakers say he must submit his letter by Oct. 1 to meet ethical standards. News9

- ➤ Ryan Walters resigned as state superintendent to become CEO of the Teacher Freedom Association — Governor Stitt will soon name a new superintendent to serve until January 2027. His departure will shift the 2026 election as several candidates vie for the office. KGOU
- ➤ The City Council received the final draft of a 30-year regional transit plan this week that will guide future transit investments and is a collaboration between Norman, Edmond — and Oklahoma City to address projected regional growth. The Norman Transcript
- ➤ Oklahoma’s Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust filed a lawsuit against HB 2783, a law that would let lawmakers change its board and move funds to non-health projects — health groups and doctors support the suit to keep the trust focused on reducing smoking and saving lives. The Oklahoman

- ➤ Alpha Phi’s OU chapter has submitted a proposal to remodel and expand its sorority house at 1401 College Ave—which includes plans for additional parking and exterior improvements to meet building codes.
