CULTURE NEWS

  • On Monday at Jim Thorpe Multicultural Center, the OU American Indian Student Association held Indigenous Peoples Day festivities with a tribal walk (over 20 people joined) and intertribal dances. Speakers such as former OU professor Christine Armer and OU senior Asa Samuels stressed a message of unity and pride, saying that the celebration honored Native heritage.  OU Daily

  • OU football lost 23-6 to Texas on Saturday at Cotton Bowl Stadium, as quarterback John Mateer struggled after returning from hand surgery with three interceptions and just 48 rushing yards while head coach Brent Venables—confident in moving the offense forward—prepares the team for their next game against South Carolina.  The Oklahoman
