- ➤ Several Taco Casa locations in the region, including Norman, began offering free meals for children 15 and under with an adult on Nov. 4 (each child receives one dine-in meal upon showing a SNAP/EBT card) and the offer will end when SNAP benefits are restored. The Oklahoman
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ OU Young Americans for Freedom is hosting conservative commentator Steven Crowder on the South Oval today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.—with support from OU Turning Point USA—and the campus has set up extra security, including local law enforcement, snipers, K-9 units and bulletproof barriers to ensure safety. - ➤ Three undocumented college students who graduated from Oklahoma high schools have asked a federal court to let them intervene as they appeal an August ruling that ended their in-state tuition rates, a decision that now forces them to pay thousands more in college fees. The group, Oklahoma Students for Affordable Tuition, signaled its intent on Oct 27th and plans to take their case to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals—while Attorney General Gentner Drummond maintains that the ruling is final. - ➤ Susan Bergen returned to Norman on Monday to update the Board of County Commissioners on the Cleveland County Detention Center's garden program.
