EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Oklahoman’s Student of the Week poll is live for Nov. 17—20 with eight nominees, and readers can vote once per hour until noon on Thursday. School faculty may submit next week’s nominations by emailing [email protected] The Oklahoman
  • University of Oklahoma researchers have launched a survey to learn how Norman residents and local government handle natural disaster response — Professor Xiaochen Angela Zhang leads the study, which will use community input to improve disaster communication.  The Norman Transcript

  • Mitch Freeman is nearing completion of his Daws Street storybook home after nearly 12 years of work. The home features a cottage-inspired design with sloped roofs and turrets that give it a fairy tale look.  The Norman Transcript

SPORTS NEWS

  • On November 15, the Sooners won 23-21 against Alabama in Tuscaloosa as a strong defensive effort forced three turnovers despite limited offensive yardage. Sophomore defensive back Eli Bowen’s 87-yard interception led to a touchdown and spurred a lively celebration—marking a key moment in the hard-fought win.  OU Daily
  • The OKC Thunder will face the Pelicans today at 7 p.m. at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans and the game will air on FanDuel Sports Network. The Thunder comes off a 109-96 win over the Hornets and is on a five-game winning streak (13-1 record).  The Oklahoman
