COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residential builder Home Creations will support KGOU’s fundraiser on Giving Tuesday by matching donations to both KGOU and the Regional Food Bank—an effort to boost local news and provide meals for families. The donation drive starts Dec. 2 and will add extra funds from community giving.  KGOU
  • The Salvation Army of Norman launched its annual Red Kettle campaign today near Campus Corner (where Lts. Corey and Mandy Doggett and volunteers are asking for donations ahead of the Sooners game against the Missouri Tigers), urging local support during the season of giving.  The Norman Transcript

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Oklahomans will vote in June on a measure to raise the minimum wage, with rates rising stepwise from $7.25 to $15 by 2029 if approved. A local economist warned that small businesses in leisure and hospitality may suffer—while a state policy analyst said the change will help many workers earn a fair wage.  The Oklahoman
  • A recent survey showed that crop producers in nearby areas faced weak incomes and tighter borrowing power, but Oklahoma's cattle industry kept farm finances more stable (with high beef prices boosting profits). Producers still battled rising inflation and high input costs as supply tightened amid strong demand.  KGOU

HEALTH NEWS

  • OU Health Campus researchers are improving cancer care access for Indigenous patients with a nurse navigator program—pilot results showed fewer missed appointments and increased depression screenings. The expanded Care Coordination and Communication Program in Oncology for Tribal Health Systems will begin next year and aims to address referral and communication challenges.  KGOU

  • OU football will host LSU at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29 at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on ABC as the Sooners try for a College Football Playoff berth after their third consecutive win.  The Oklahoman
  • John Mateer said Monday night he has not really thought about the NFL Draft—he will focus on his next game against LSU as he works through a mid-season hand injury and offensive struggles. He said improving his performance remains his top priority so he can help OU win.  The Oklahoman
  • The Oklahoma Sooners will host the LSU Tigers at Memorial Stadium in Norman on November 29 at 3:30 p.m. ET—tickets start at $167 as both teams prepare for the final week of the regular season.  The Oklahoman
  • University of Oklahoma defensive players Taylor Wein, Gracen Halton and punter Grayson Miller earned SEC weekly awards after the Sooners beat Missouri 17-6 on Saturday in Norman—marking the second straight week that OU claimed three SEC awards. The honors come as the team prepares for its regular season finale against LSU.  News9
  • OU athletic director Joe Castiglione said the athletic department is discussing alternative scheduling because if the Sooners win Saturday’s game against LSU at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium the playoff game may conflict with final exams running December 15—19 and graduation ceremonies on December 20. The university will decide once the College Football Playoff brackets are announced on December 7.  OU Daily
  • Former OU commit Jonathan Hatton Jr., a top running back from Steele High in Texas, announced Monday he switched his commitment back to the Sooners after once choosing Texas A&M in March+ his move strengthens OU’s 2026 team.  The Oklahoman
