STEM Event- Drone Building

About this event

Skyward Bound: Drone Engineering & Flight Workshop

Target Audience: Students in 5th grade and up (Middle & High School)

Duration: Approx. 2 hours

Overview

Unleash your inner engineer! In Skyward Bound , students dive headfirst into the exciting world of aerospace and robotics. Designed for curious minds in 5th grade and up, this hands-on workshop bridges the gap between physics and practical engineering. Participants will transition from learning the foundational science of flight to building, wiring, and test-piloting their very own mini-drones.

What Students Will Learn & Experience

• The Physics of Flight: Discover how lift, drag, thrust, and weight interact, and how drone pilots use aerodynamic principles to maneuver through the air.

• Hardware & Electronics Integration: Get hands-on experience assembling real components—connecting motors, flight controllers, and frames.

• Basic Piloting Skills: Once built, students will calibrate their aircraft and run introductory flight tests in a safe, controlled environment.

What’s Included

• All drone building components and tools required for the workshop session.

• Step-by-step guidance from experienced STEM mentors and educators.

• A thrilling test-flight session to see your hard work take to the skies!
